Canada’s Clean Fuels Regulations (CFR) are a crucial part of the Canada’s climate plan to reduce emissions by 40-45% from 2015 levels by 2030. Share of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from the transport sector have increased from 26% in 2019 to 28% in 2020. Despite a fall in the total GHG emissions in 2020, a continuous increase in emissions from transport sector is concerning.

Emission Vehicles (ZEVs) in the Light Duty Vehicles (LDVs) is also a part of the challenge that will be addressed by the CFR.
